The show was a weird one. Ice took out my internet connection just minutes before the show forcing me to relocate to Panera Bread (yay, free wifi!) while Geoff was in Barcelona at the Mobile World Congress drooling over the new Nokia N96. His connection was shoddy, mine was shoddy, the show was delayed - but we had fun.

  • Geoff’s brief review of Mobile World Congress
  • Aaron invites himself to Barcelona for any speaking engagement
  • Microsoft-Yahoo bid declined by Yahoo! $45B is way too cheap and insulting
  • Geoff didn’t vote. He’s a deadbeat. :-)
  • The outcome of the Potomac Primary could tip the vote toward Barack Obama making him the front runeer
  • When was the last brokered convention? Geoff things it was 1968 when Bobby Kennedy was assassinated
  • Caller Steve speculates on Yahoo deal from an earnings per share perspective. Also clarifies that the last brokered convention for the GOP was in 1952 and the Dems in 1948
  • Would Google win or lose if the deal were to be completed?
  • DC local WebMethods founder is launching a video job search/recruiting site
  • Aaron mentions Standout Jobs as already doing this. Brings up discrimination potential.
  • 9 DC government workers fired for viewing porn. We’re shocked.
  • Geoff tells a porn story. People can’t get fired for viewing porn in Barcelona.
  • Geoff drops the requisite F-bomb just to get the iTunes Mature rating
  • Silly Valley: Hot or not to be acquired for $20M?
